The problem
Financial inclusion in Iraq was the target problem space (reaching people underserved by existing financial products), explored and scoped within a hackathon's tight timeframe.
The constraint wasn't technical scale but time: designing, validating, and pitching a credible concept end-to-end in a fixed hackathon window.
Role & responsibilities
Product thinking and solution design alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Technical communication: translating the concept into a pitch a judging panel could evaluate.
End-to-end delivery from ideation through final presentation.
Outcome
First place at the Fintech Hackathon: a validated concept for financial inclusion, designed and pitched end-to-end under hackathon constraints.
What I learned
Pitching a fintech concept well requires the same clarity as pitching a technical architecture: knowing what problem you're actually solving, for whom, before reaching for a solution.
Cross-functional teams move faster under real time pressure when product and engineering framing happen together, not in sequence.
